UPDATE: TWO ADDITIONAL MEETINGS ADDED TO TRAINING SCHEDULE AND TRAINING AT VIMS RESCHEDULED!
The Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation is offering a series of 6-hour training sessions statewide to educate local government staff and other stakeholders about the history and implementation of Virginia’s Stormwater Management Law and Regulations and the 2012 Integration Bill.
Below you will find a list of meetings. Two additional meetings have been added since the original registration announcement was sent. These meetings will be in Leesburg and Marion. Also, due to Hurricane Sandy, the meeting scheduled for October 30th at the VA Institute of Marine Science has been rescheduled for December 19th. All remaining meetings are listed below
Attendees will learn the basics of stormwater management, the history of stormwater regulations in VA, design and implementation tools for managing stormwater on developed sites, tips for implementing the regulations and overseeing regulated land disturbing activities, and the future of VA's Stormwater Management program. This training will be from 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and will be worth 6 hours of continuing education credits. Attendees will receive class materials on a CD-rom and will be awarded Certificates of Attendance.
